Liverpool and Arsenal to lock horns over La Masia product

Arsenal are hot on the trail of yet another tantalising future prospect in Keita Baldé Diao, but are unlikely to have it easy as Liverpool are also keeping the Gunners company, according to reports in the Express.
Diao is a Spanish footballer with Senegalese roots. The 19 year old is a product of Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy and had been earmarked for future greatness, until a practical joke played by him failed to tickle the funny bones of club officials and he found himself loaned to Barca’s satellite club UE Cornellà as punishment. He turned down the opportunity to return to Barcelona after a year and instead made his way to Lazio in Italy.
Brendan Rodgers is already believed to have scouted Diao all through last season and could make an official bid for him this winter. Although Lazio are not too keen to part with a potential future star, they might change their mind, should a bid in the region of £25 million be made.
Arsenal have suffered much owing to their lack of firepower in front of goal and although Diao may not provide immediate solution, his inclusion could be crucial to any future glory that the club targets.
