D'banj has been relevant in the industry for many years. Back when he and Don Jazzy were a team they churned out mega hits like 'tongolo', 'why me', 'mobolowowon', 'socor'and several others.
After the massive split that rocked the music industry D'banjwent ahead to start his own record label called DB Records.
So far in 2014 D'banj though has released songs 'omini', 'bother you' he has had several other achievements that are not music related.
Here are 10 of D'banj's applaudable accomplishments in 2014.
- Beats by Dre ambassadorship : In October 2014, D'banj was signed on as the first African Beats by Dre ambassador. He is also set to launch his line of gold headphones and speakers in December 2014.
- Signed Tonto Dikeh :Controversial Nollywood actressTonto Dikeh was signed on to Dbanj's DB Records as Poko Lee, the Duchess of the Lee Dynasty in May 2014.
- Endorsed American Politician :Nigerian super star campaigned for Bobby Shriver who is the aspiring Mayor of Los Angeles.
- Collaboration with Akon :After his huge collabo with American rapper Kanye West, Dbanj has teamed up with another American Akon on two new tracks.
- He delivered a TEDx speech :The 'Oliver Twist' singer made another huge step towards cementing his super star status when he gave a TEDx speech in Washington DC.
- He got a female manager : Dbanj changed things up a bit after firing his old manager Tony and hired his international booking agent Tonya Merritt to be his manager in October 2014.
- Interviews on top media stations :This year alone Dbanj has been interviewed on giant American stationABC news, BBC in London and YouTube also in London.
- Met Influential celebrities :Dbanj is now rubbing shoulders with the likes of Bill Gates and Bono of Irish music band U2.
- He launched koko garri :As a part of his passion for development of African agriculture he launched his own brand of garri called Koko garri in March 2014.
- One campaign song : Dbanj who is a major person at the forefront of the One Campaign masterminded the song 'Cocoa na chocolate' which brought together African singers to promote the agricultural sector.
