Manchester City played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates in
the early kick-off today, and one player who certainly enjoyed the game was
Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany.
Kompany, whose side took the lead
in the first half only to trail heading into the last 10 minutes and then
clinch a good point, said after the game, "It is was an enjoyable game to
play in and there were good performances all over the pitch. In these types of
games, you have to be happy it doesn't go against you."
Kompany though was already
looking ahead after the game and said, "It is the start of a very tough
week for us - away here and in Munich, we will see how we get on. There are a
lot of positive and we showed we have the spirit to go and win it again."
City travel to Munich to take on
German champions Bayern in midweek, before returning next weekend for a clash
with Chelsea. Kompany though stated he won't be taking any games lightly this
season, adding, "I will go for the Capital One Cup as much as the
Champions League. I want to win games and trophies. We will see where we will
struggle and I see it all as a positive season. Arsenal are stronger than last
year, and there are no easy way to trophies."
Meanwhile, Arsenal star Jack
Wilshere was disappointed that the Gunners didn't hang on to their lead and
clinch all three points, sharing, "I think we showed great character to
come back from 1-0 down, but at 2-1 up we are disappointed not to win."
About his own
performance, Wilshere said, "I'm getting fitter and fitter as the
games go on, I recovered well after the England game and we felt fresh which I
think we saw in the way we started."
