Chelsea plot shock Ronaldo swoop

Amid reports that Real Madrid could sell their superstar asset; Cristiano Ronaldo next season, Chelsea have thrown their name in the list of contenders alongside Manchester United.
Ronaldo will be 30 years old at the beginning of next summer’s transfer window. The Portuguese winger, whose game relies heavily on pace, is bound to lose a yard or two, making him a little less critical in the Galacticos rank. As a result there are rumours that Madrid will do the smart thing and sell him for cash now, rather than wait around to see him lose his sheen over time.
Manchester United who have spent a staggering £150 million plus this summer have already set aside another £60 million, to bring back their prodigal son. But it is Chelsea who have the financial wherewithal to outspend United, whenever required.
Despite being a Madridista for 5 years now, Ronaldo has consistently expressed his love and admiration for Old Trafford throughout his Spanish sojourn, his latest love epithet being, "I love Manchester. Everyone knows that - I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day."
What makes Manchester an even more likely destination is that Ronaldo has been openly critical of Jose Mourinho, who he worked under for 3 years, a reunion therefore seems unlikely.
