residential pools has sold for $5.5 million.
The
sprawling 23,000-square-foot, mountaintop estate with a custom-made
design is perched up on Paint Mountain on more than 18 acres, and
provides 360-degree views of Southern California.
The

prior to auction after a last-minute offer was made for less than half of the asking price.
While
built in 1995, the estate in some ways appears to be a nod to the 80s,
as if 'you took everything about an episode of Miami Vice (the swagger
of a young Don Johnson, the soft colors of Italian designer suits, the
unapologetic excess) and translated it into a piece of luxury real
estate', Trulia reported.
The
San Diego County home features eight bedrooms, including a
4,300-square-foot master suite with access to a rooftop terrace, nine
full and two half bathrooms and an unfinished 1,200-square-foot guest
house that with two beds and two full bathrooms.
The
mansion also includes several terraces, vistas stretching to the
Pacific Ocean, a courtyard with a pool and spa, two 900-gallon
salt-water aquariums, koi pools and stone wall waterfalls.
Additional
features of the unique home include a fitness center, sauna, wine
cellar, private jogging path, 20-car garage and a custom rock water
slide sloping down the edge of the mountain.
The
estate's design was custom-created by the original owner who had
